annual summer kickoff community cookout

Join us for our annual Summer Kickoff Community Cookout on Friday, May 29 from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at McKinley Park! This free, family-friendly event is open to everyone and is the perfect way to celebrate the start of summer.
Enjoy a relaxed evening with free food, live music, and yard games for all ages. Kids can also take part in our popular build-a-buddy activity and create their own stuffed animal to take home.
Be sure to bring a chair or blanket for seating and come ready for a fun night with friends, family, and the community.

annual book giveaway

Stop by the library for our Annual Book Giveaway, running from May 2 through May 16 during regular operating hours. Browse hundreds of books for all ages that have been removed from our collection and are ready for a new home.
There is no set price—visitors are encouraged to take as many books as they would like. Free will donations are appreciated, with all proceeds supporting our Summer Reading Program.

Join us for Ceramics with Sally on April 25 at 2:00 PM for a fun and creative experience open to participants from Kindergarten through adults. Under the guidance of a skilled instructor, you’ll learn painting techniques while creating and personalizing your own ceramic piece. Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced crafter, this is a great opportunity to relax, learn something new, and make a one-of-a-kind creation to take home. 1,000 BOOKS BEFORE KINDERGARTEN

1,000 Books Before Kindergarten is now available on Beanstack!

Say "goodbye" to paper logs. Track your books easily and efficiently while earning fun badges along the way.

This educational challenge is open to any child not-yet enrolled in Kindergarten. The goal? To read 1,000 books before kindergarten. It's easier than it sounds, and the benefits are tremendous. You'll foster important relationships with your children while boosting their early literacy skills and building solid foundations for educational success.

Tired of screens? We are still happily offering our paper logs for those who are suffering from screen fatigue.

Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library is a book gifting program that mails free, high-quality books to children from birth to age five, no matter their family’s income. Thanks to our Newton County Township Trustees, every child under the age of 5 in Newton County is eligible for this program!
